This is the most powerful spinning rod in the steelhead lineup. It will allow you to cover any big river under just about any condition with traditional techniques, and if you need to you can drop down to the lighter baits and spinners. This rod gives the angler who prefers spinning to casting the ability to detect the subtle take of a steelhead by minimizing line drag created by the current; especially those drifts across the river with slow water in between you and the holding water. A longer rod allows extended drifts, longer casts and better fish control when the fish is hooked a long ways out. The extra length also allows you to use longer leaders when the water is low and clear.
